We are happy to announce that we have received Consulate appointments for all families on July 22nd at 10:00am. With the appointment confirmations we are now able to confirm concrete travel dates. Your group will depart for China on July 9th (unless I have previously discussed a different departure date for your family) and will return home on July 24th.
We made a "countdown" calendar for Sophia because she kept on asking when we would be going to China to get Avah. We now have 16 more days before we get on a BIG plane that will take us to China!! She is so excited!
We would like to ask you for your prayers regarding the current situation with the swine flu. This came out from the State Dept:
The Department of State alerts U.S. citizens to the quarantine measures imposed by the Government of China in response to the 2009-H1N1 pandemic that may affect travel to China. This Travel Alert expires on September 30, 2009.
Current quarantine measures in China include placing arriving passengers who exhibit fever or flu-like symptoms into seven-day quarantine. Although the proportion of arriving Americans being quarantined remains low, the random nature of the selection process increases the uncertainty surrounding travel to China.
Please pray that we all stay healthy (no fevers) especially when we land in China!
