Hello everyone!
Just a quick note to let everyone know that we are finally home.
We unfortunately missed our connection out of Chicago. Not our fault. By the time you go through immigration, collect your luggage to go through customs, then go to the room where they reveiw Avah's immigration papers, then go through more security checks....our terminal was the farthest part of the airport.....we sprinted (no really, all of us Sophia, mommy and daddy carrying Avah) sprinted, took the moving sidewalks sprinting...hopped on the tram and ended up missing it anyway.
We were able to get a 7 p.m. flight out which had us at BWI at 10 p.m. We finally got to my parent's home at 11 p.m.
While waiting for our flight at Chicago I noticed some spots on Avah. I "recognized" them as chicken pox. They have now spread all over her face, chest, scalp, nose, lips, ears, palms, feet, between legs...we will be taking her to our pediatrician this evening because they have clinic hours. Sigh. I'm 99% certain they are chicken pox sine I got chicken pox one month after being home with Sophia!!
HELP!! Avah is NOT liking Smoochie!! Any advice?? Please call me or email me or post!!! Thanks!!
So if anyone wants to expose their kids to chicken pox....come for a visit in the next 7-10 days!! :)
Love, Maria

Welcome Home!
Oh, goodness! So sorry for the chicken pox and the missed flight! No matter how children come into our families, whether by natural childbirth or by adoption, there always seems to be a great deal of energy expended! They are worth it, though! Hope that your former experience with chicken pox helps you in knowing how to deal with this. Not very fun for Avah, I'm sure!
We had a near miss of connections in the US as well, because of all the immigration and security checks. We caught our flight, but our luggage didn't. We were so exhausted by that point, I can't believe you all had to run across the airport in such a tired condition! Bless you hearts!
We will be praying for you all, that Avah's chicken pox don't last long, that she adjust to Smoochie in time, and that you all get some much needed rest!
Bless you!
Denise, for Jeff and Heather, too!

Hey Clarks!
Glad to hear you all are home safely, though really sorry for the chicken pox report! Thank goodness those didn't show up in China...no telling how that might have complicated things with quarantines and such.
I have no advice on the dog issue. Ellyce still is none too fond of ours!
Hope the next few days go smoothly!
Love,
the Thompsons
