Avah was a little whiney but did not squirm around and cry. We found out that Avah has quite a bit of cavities!! Her four first molars will require stainless steel crowns because they are too badly decayed to hold fillings. One of them will require a baby root canal! Three of her other molars and her front incisor (where her cleft was) will need resin fillings. This will require her being sedated.
This really didn't come as too big of a surprise to us but nonetheless, it is still upsetting that she will have to go through it!! Thankfully, she is with her family now and we can take care of all her future dental needs!!!
I do have lots of pictures of Avah eating candy or cake at ChangDe!! Hmmm, maybe instead of passing out candy during orphanage visits or in care packages people should start giving stickers!

Loved looking at the photos of the dentist! She is such a sweetie! So sorry to hear about the extensive dental work. The same activity table is in the office of Sidney's pediatric orthopedist. She loves it! We are free of the doctor until Nov 6 when she sees the hand surgeon. We are thinking the two fingers which are webbed will be separated sometime before or right after the holidays. We are blessed to be able to do this! Cara
