I'm tired so here are some random thoughts....

Avah is a GREAT eater!

Avah still "whimpers" when she has to go potty instead of telling us.

We went to the Hunan Embroidery Museum of China today. Very cool!

Avah gave mommy her first kiss at lunch today (approx 12:25 p.m. China time!)

We all blew "bubbles" outside the hotel

Avah has the "sweetest", "cutest" laugh!!

Avah is calling out for baba and So-fia or Fia alot

Avah was singing in a loud voice on the elevator, "Mama, mama, mama…." Which made mama's heart sing…

We all went swimming this afternoon

Avah will ignore any local that wants to talk to her. No really. She will turn her head away and NOT answer them! It's kinda funny.

Avah will put her arms up when she wants to be picked up and sometimes says "up"

Avah is talking A LOT (too bad we don't know what she's saying)

Avah will often come to mama or baba and sit on our laps

Avah is very independent. Wants to put her own clothes on, feed herself, go potty, etc. I think she is loving that we are doing these things "for her!"

Avah sleeps very soundly. She will twirl her hair (not a lot) when she goes to bed

She's very smart…figures things out on her own and WANTS to figure it out ON HER OWN!

Ok, everyone else is in bed and I still have to take a shower so g'nite. Oh, we leave Hunan tomorrow and fly to Guangzhou. We have an 8:10 PM flight so please pray for travel mercies! Thanks!

[redthread2avah] Love these new photos

Oh my goodness the girls look so sweet together. Love these pictures - she looks like she is settling in perfectly. How neat it is to see the transformation in the pictures, thanks for letting us follow along! Wasn't the embroidery place amazing - the one I wanted was about 2000 US I think; needless to say I did not get it, ha! Hope you picked up some neat things. Can't wait to see more pictures and I have to admit I am bit jealous you are getting to stay at the China Marriott again, ha; we missed that hotel this time! :)

Love,
Heather S.

Subject: [redthread2avah] Love the pictures!

Dear Maria, Nelson, Sophia, and Avah,

We just love all the pictures! Avah seems to be settling in so well! What a blessing and answer to prayer. The girls really seem to be getting along so well.

Heather was very impressed with Avah's Chinese writing.

Heather also used to turn her head away from anyone Asian who spoke to her, and hide behind me if they spoke Mandarin. She doesn't remember this now.

Loved the pictures of the embroidery museum, too! Amazing! We did not get to see that when we were in Changsha. We did have Dimple as our guide, though, and liked seeing her picture. She was very nice. I had a hard time understanding her, but Jeff did just fine. So he was my interpreter for the interpreter!

We are praying for your safe trip tomorrow. Thanks for all the updates!

Love,
The Sullivans
