Still EXHAUSTED!! I don't remember being this tired three years ago. Last night we went to bed around 7:30 p.m. thinking we would get a great night sleep but at around 2 a.m. Sophia woke up and was no longer tired. Of course, this is because she did have a nap sometime Friday. So, as you may have guessed, around 3 a.m. I finally gave up trying to get BACK to sleep so I just got up.
Breakfast was served at 6 a.m. and that's the time we were there. It was a nice leisurely breakfast before meeting the group in the lobby at 8:30 a.m. for a l-o-n-g day of sight-seeing. We first went to Tianamen Square and the Forbidden Palace. It was very hot and humid out there and much more crowded than when we went in 2006. Thankfully thought it was an overcast day so we did not get sunburn.
We had a "western" lunch before going to the pearl factory. Daddy bought the girls matching pearl necklaces and earrings and Mommy a beautiful set too! Thank you daddy!
After the pearl factory we went to the Summer Palace. Again, a lot different in the summer time. After the Summer Palace we went to the silk museum followed by a very quick dinner. We then went to an acrobatic show. Sophia had a great day. She loved playing with Rachel ….loves being in China (she keeps telling people that) …getting attention from locals, not so much.
It is 10:30ish p.m. and I'm barely staying awake to write this so if there are spelling or grammatical errors, sorry. Ok, g'nite….

Hi guys! So glad to see that you all are enjoying yourselves and are safely in China! Your pictures are great and we were all sitting here remembering our journey just 2 short years ago- we actually came home 2 years ago TODAY! We love the pictures of Sophia in Beijing and the pure joy on her face! Can't wait to take Hannah back to visit some day. Praying for you all and the excitement still to come! Lots of love, Amy and all the Sowers

Subject: [redthread2avah] Beautiful pictures!
You sound like you had a jam-packed day of sight seeing! How beautiful the gardens looked! We saw them in the winter and froze. It looked very hot for you all. Looks like Sophia is having fun!
Hope you all adjust soon to the time change and are able to get better sleep soon.
Hope your church service tomorrow is good. I remember it being one of the highlights of our trip, since they had a special children's Christmas program the day we were there. Hope that whatever you all are doing tomorrow is special and memory-making, too!
Thanks for the updates! Praying for you all!

Maria, Don't worry about the spelling and stuff. We are just so excited to hear all that is happening. It is almost like being right there with you. We love you and are praying for you. Take good care.

Subject: [redthread2avah] Happy to see you in China
Happy to hear you made it and are doing well!! Loved the pics, especially the one of Sophia and Daddy sleeping!!
We too were very exhausted our last trip for Molly. I think it is the heat combined with the jet lag. It was much better by day 3, hope it is for you too!!
Tell Sophia all her China sisters are thinking of her and we can't wait to see her meet her new sister! We miss you all at the reunion.
Enjoy the great wall and Sunday services. We'll keep watching for the first pics of the new family.
Love,
Tina
